1. About This Site
Albany JW Parking is a volunteer coordination platform operated by and for the parking team of the Albany Regional Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
This website is not sponsored, created, or controlled by Jehovah's Witnesses or www.JW.org, legally known as the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania.
2. Information We Collect
When you register as a volunteer, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Congregation name
- Spiritual status (elder, ministerial servant, pioneer, etc.)
- Notes relevant to parking assignments
- Crew and scheduling preferences
We do not collect payment information, government-issued ID numbers, or any financial data.
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for convention volunteer coordination:
- Creating and managing your volunteer account
- Scheduling you for parking shifts
- Sending SMS and email communications about your assignments
- Tracking attendance at convention days
- Generating internal reports for parking overseers
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Cookies
This site uses two types of strictly necessary cookies:

Session cookie (
connect.sid) — Keeps you logged in during your visit. This cookie expires when you close your browser or after 15 minutes of inactivity. -
CSRF cookie (
_csrf) — Protects form submissions from cross-site request forgery attacks. This is a security requirement and cannot be disabled.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies. Because our cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function securely, they are set automatically upon your first visit.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Twilio — SMS delivery. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio to send you scheduling messages. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.
- IONOS — Email delivery. Your email address is used to send you account and scheduling communications via IONOS mail servers.
- Microsoft Azure — Application hosting and database storage. Your data is stored in Azure SQL and served via Azure App Service. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
6. Data Retention
Volunteer records are retained for the duration of the convention season and reviewed at season end. Records may be retained between seasons to simplify re-enrollment for returning volunteers. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting a parking administrator.
7. Your Rights
You may request to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information in your account
- Delete your volunteer account and associated data
- Opt out of SMS communications by replying STOP to any message
To exercise these rights, contact a parking team administrator directly or use the contact information available through your assigned overseer.
8. Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption in transit, HttpOnly session cookies, CSRF protection on all forms, and role-based access controls that limit data visibility to authorized personnel.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
